Words & Graphics, founded in 1991, is owned and operated by Jay and Krystal Hipps. Together, they bring over 30 years of publications experience to each new job, be it a newsletter, brochure, or web site. Jay has created publications for the real estate and business communities since 1988. As director of communications for the Petaluma (California) Area Chamber of Commerce, he served as writer and editor of Petaluma Business, the organization's monthly 16-page, tabloid-sized newsletter which twice received awards from the California Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives. Jay currently serves as editor in chief of Hacienda Network, a monthly newsletter with a distribution of 12,000, which is read by those who work in Hacienda, a mixed use development in Pleasanton, California recognized as one of the top ten developments of its kind worldwide by Site Selection magazine. Jay's experience also includes time spent as editor of Market Insights, a publication for the clients of a Bay Area real estate appraisal firm, and as publisher of the Sonoma-Marin Farm News for the Sonoma County Farm Bureau. Krystal, who serves as designer and illustrator at Words & Graphics, served for 9 years as art director and illustrator for The Psychic Reader, a Bay Area monthly with a circulation of 65,000. Her ability to create illustrations in a broad range of styles has endeared her to a variety of clients, including the Sonoma County Library Foundation, Dempsey's Restaurant & Brewery, Body & Soul, Spirit Revisited, Coffee Anyone, the Marin Birth Center, the San Francisco Cherry Blossom Festival, and many more.
