sunrise

This shot, taken southeast towards the new bridge (see photo below), shows the glow of sunrise on a September morning.

Here's a night shot of the new Al Zampa Memorial Bridge, the suspension bridge which will replace the Carquinez Bridge on Interstate 80. This image was taken during the bridge's construction; it's not lighted currently although this may change when the bridge opens later this year.

(Some students at Franklin Middle School have put together a great page on the bridge that you can find here. You can also find information about the bridge here, on a page put together by Mark Ketchum.)

This shot was taken during
a thunderstorm, a meteorological rarity for the Bay Area.
(It's a bit blurred from the rain on the window.)

Golden Gate Bridge

Here's our view of the Golden Gate Bridge. (It's about 30 miles away from here, so it's not the sharpest shot, I'll admit. If you're looking for a real-time shot from much closer to the bridge, I'd suggest this one from the Exploratorium, a great local science museum.)

Snowy Mt. Diablo

Here's the snowy top of Mt. Diablo during a February cold snap.

Sunrise

Also, here's a shot of a December sunrise.
